Phototype is a javascript wrapper to manipulate images rendered on the server-side.  This client/server-side library, based on prototype, which supports all kinds of image manipulations. On the serverside the library is powered by combination of PHP/GD that renders the image. With phototype, you are able to rotate, resize, flip and do some other cool effects to images. Let’s start a quick tour.

Supersized is a full screen photos slideshow  jQuery plugin.

So, what exactly does Supersized do?

• Resizes images to fill browser while maintaining image dimension ratio
• Cycles Images/backgrounds via slideshow with transitions and preloading
• Navigation controls allow for pause/play and forward/back

flickrshow is a simple Javascript slideshow for Flickr. It doesn’t require any web-development expertise, any particular Javascript frameworks, (although it works with all of them), or any hosted web space. It works in all modern web browsers, (even Internet Explorer 6).

• Unobtrusive and compatible: they built flickrshow on top of Prototype so it will work with all modern browsers and won’t interfere with any other Javascript on your page.
• Themeable to match your site: You can alter the colour of flickrshow to match your site.
• Can be used multiple times: it caused a number of headaches, but you can run as many slideshows on your site as you want, as long as your viewers can handle the loading times.

When trying to conceive ways in which space could be saved on a web page Andy Sellick decided a sliding menu would work well as shown in the images below. He decided to use mootools due to the smoothness of their effects, however, this could just as easily be developed in script.aculo.us or other JavaScript libraries.

You can easily customise the look of the sliding menu by CSS. However there may be some CSS issues in Safari but as yet he haven???t had the time to fully test and fix potential bugs. The next pitfall to note is the lack of degradability with JavaScript turned off, however, this will be fixed very soon.

(E)2 Photo Gallery is a open source gallery built with Mootools Javascript Library the compact, modular, Object-Oriented javascript framework. Designed to allow you to upload your photos to a desired folder, tell the (E)² Photo Gallery what folder to look at and it will automatically load the images using PHP.
